It all began with Bernard Muller, a visionary founder with an unwavering drive to create a lasting impact and inspire others. Over time, Bernard's entrepreneurial spirit resulted in the growth and exit of Rotterdam based maritime services giant Burando in 2021.
Life took a turn when in 2010, Bernard was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a devastating neurodegenerative disease affecting motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord. Upon hearing from doctors that there was no cure and his journey is nearing its end. Bernard’s entrepreneurial spirit made him take fortune into his own hands.
This led to the birth of biotech startup, Treeway, with the mission of finding a cure for ALS. Treeway spearheaded ProjectMine, the largest DNA sequencing initiative in the world, aimed at propelling research in this domain.
